Vegas

Well, I figure its about time for some R&R. The past few weeks have been a complete blur and I have to admit that I was a little overwelmed. Hide's work just happened to coincide with the end of my Japanese class and so we're packing our bags and flying into the desert. Vegas Bound! Yeeeeeee hawwww!!

We'll only be there for 3 nights, and so we're going to take advantage of every minute we can afford. Of course there will be some gambling. . .or should I say some sleep between the gambling. Actually we're renting a car and heading over to the grand canyon for a day trip. Hopefully I'll get some good pics. Speaking of which, I just posted a few random shots of Vancouver. Anyways, I'm looking forward to getting away. . .to being nowhere near to a computer. . .to spending some quality time with the little lady. . .

China Represent!

The amount of blogging I've done over the past month is directly and inversely proportional to just how busy I've been. The AMS job is as expected with a new found hatred for ColdFusion. Contract work for PCI is steadily creeping along as well. . . What other time I have is basically taken up by eating, sleeping and studying for the current Japanese class. Just another week and it'll be a little easier to breathe.

Last night however, Japanese studying took a back seat to the fireworks. China was on deck at the Celebration of lights. That had to be the best fireworks display I've ever witnessed up close and personal.

Galleries Gone

Some scary eval() errors in my watchdog listing prompted me to get off my fat ass and update. I opted for a clean install of 4.6.2 which went rather smoothly. Things, however, turned ugly when the image update script failed and eventually failed upon renaming all of my images. So poof. . .all my galleries were gone. Oh well, one of these days I'll get around to upping them again. . .

I'm having second thoughts about the Japanese course I am in already. Its fast, probably too fast for most in the class, but at the moment is just a pile of review. My fear is that complete boredom will overtake me in the classroom and I'll eventually lose interest, essentially throwing $900 out the window. I guess I'll wait and see though. . . won't take long before new things start appearing. After all, we are doing a complete textbook in 6 weeks time.

Working Man

I need 6 credits to graduate. That's 2 courses and so I budgeted for that. I guess I was much too comfortable thinking that this year's tuition would amount to a seemingly gentle $1000 or so. When the time came to register, it was a different story. After some juggling and frustration that some conflicts arose, the dust cleared and I was left with 7 registered courses with an extra in mind for second term.

Now the last time I was in school was almost 2 years ago, right about the time when tuitions were bumped up a notch, well a couple of notches. When I saw the amount due this time, however, a feeling of disgust followed by panic over took me. "Damn. Shit. Oh man. Student Loan?" For at least 1 year of study it would've been nice not to work, not to schedule studying around my 4 o'clock shift. But that's not going to happen this year :(
